World End Diner

decorating your diner is simple but effective, and there's very few limits to how and where you put things. finding out i could put little decor pieces on top of walls was such a delight and a very cute touch, in particular. you can even decorate the island you inhabit, and really make the place your own. the animals are all cute and charming, and the robots each have their little personality quirks that shine through in their dialogue. being able to customize your own robot to play as was also a lovely little feature.

TL;DR, this game is a hidden gem that you should absolutely get if you enjoy laid-back, pleasant gameplay and don't mind a slow pace.

Not because I expect it to actually be finished, but I love what is there very much and while it starts kind of slow, I like the way it paces itself and how immersive the game feels, like it knows its limitations and makes use of them (like foggy graphics in old horror movies being because of graphic limitations, but ultimately adding value to the experience).

I also think that both games would benefit from controller/Steam Deck support.

there are some small issues, though nothing game-breaking. the english translation has improved immensely and is understandable, but still not perfect. there's a camera stutter when your little robot character moves across the map that can give some players motion sickness. time doesn't stop while you're looking through chests or crafting menus with the exception of the escape menu and the skill/clover/AP tree menus, which can leave you feeling rushed. other than small inconveniences like this, the game runs well and has simple to understand controls and mechanics, along with some lovely music.
