Northern Journey

The combat is pretty challenging--in just the two hours I've played so far, there have been several instances in which I've had to face large numbers of fast-moving enemies simultaneously who can deal damage surprisingly quick.

If you enjoy single player FPS games with an emphasis on exploring like that of Half Life or Classic DOOM, this game is worth the check out.

Fortunately, I do not feel like this takes too much away from the game itself, but I suppose it does leave a bit more to be desired, as I do love a great OST to go with the games I play.

Environments, for all the limitations of the game, are mostly gorgeous and get ever better the greater the scale becomes, as the somewhat low textures start mattering less.

The story is interesting to start with, and you find yourself drawn into this strange wild land and its inhabitants, wanting to know more, and how you're going to get away from this otherworldy place you've found yourself in.

The combat - it is an FPS, after all - is immensely satisfying, with the unique, ranged weapon design and the hordes of gigantic insects and Scandinavian wildlife major pluses.
