What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
-Well written and easy to understand story with some moral and philosophical undertones
The game is just a joy to play and offered a new experience for this 40yr old JRPG fan and I expect it to be nominated for best sound design this year.
Gameplay - 8 (easy to understand and enjoyable but nothing that breaks the mold)
As well as the art style (which is wonderful, but especially the 2D sprites during cutscenes) being along the same kind of style, the overarching plot has a kind of hybrid of a Disney movie and a JRPG, with a girl with a dream somehow ending up in a plot that's way over her head, with ups and downs of her not knowing if she can do it.
Good accessibility options for those that want them.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
