It's similar to the Street Fighter III games, where you press forward shortly before an attack connects with you and it both SFIII and H2H, it is a powerful defensive mechanic that leaves you at frame advantage and can be fished for, due to the fact you can parry both in the air and on the ground, while only needing to press forward to parry.

This game does get boring doing survival over and over because of the quick difficulty spike so I cant wait for Versus mode options especially like turning off the timer or making it one round or disabling head stat bonuses for fairness in Versus.
