What players think
The recurring themes across 178 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The blend of 2D pixel characters within detailed 3D environments gives the game a hybrid aesthetic that feels both nostalgic and modern, creating a sense of depth without sacrificing its retro spirit.
Gameplay is super satisfying, but definitely takes skill, the push back from the water to fly is a super fun mechanic and upgrading really increases the weight behind the water.
Excellent Visuals, really unique style!
The soundtrack is top notch, its both retro and still not grating.
The controls are a little bit stiff even with a gamepad, in certain instances, but really not terrible.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and are not shown.
