Unusual Findings

In my opinion, Epic Llama has managed to create an original, humorous and engaging story that yes, hints at Thimbleweed Park, Stranger Things and even more at Super 8 (who remembers that movie?), but without being derivative.

There may be a few voices here and there that sound less convincing, but overall, I reckon the voice acting fits the game and the characters like a glove.

When I started playing Unusual Findings, I knew what I wanted and what to expect: I wanted to dive in, head first in my beloved 80s, with its music and movies and games references; play the role of a handful of goofy kids and investigate a sci-fi mystery, point and click away, and solve quirky puzzles, all in glorious retro pixel art style.

This clever branching mechanic changes how the game will play out reminiscent of a mechanic that was in the Indiana Jones point-and-click games.

The game also respects the player’s time, offering a smooth learning curve that gradually introduces more intricate tasks as the story deepens.
