What players think
The recurring themes across 211 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It has an understated but heartfelt little story with a great payoff at the end.
The lighting is necessary because the map could only be read in bright places, and the party's own torch fuel is limited.
Instead of relying on flashy visuals or cinematic storytelling, the game focuses on rewarding exploration, strategic battles, and meaningful progression.
The interface and auto map are very well designed.
The main criticism I have about this game is how clunky the command prompts can feel at times, but if you use a controller it gets easy enough after remapping, and even switching to keyboard was easy enough once I took the time to figure out the keybinds.
All in all this is a fun, if sometimes simple feeling dungeon crawler with plenty of replay value, a charming story and a nostalgia inducing soundtrack and if you're a fan of the genre you'll have fun, and if you're totally new to first person dungeon crawlers this is a great entry point with a low price that lets you feel out the more "hardcore" side of dungeon crawlers.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 5 sampled reviews and is not shown.
