Dangerous Waters

once you know what you're doing it actually becomes a lot of fun and with sliders for difficulty and realism. theres nothing better than setting up a search area in a sub finding and then killing the enemy, or sitting in the weapons suite of an advanced destroyer sending out missiles, helo's and torps at various enemys.

Dangerous Waters is not so much a "game" as it is a genuine training siumlator, and as such has an extraordinarily steep learning curve that simply can't be overcome without first reading the manual and running a few practice missions as tutorials.

It is not flashy, forgiving, or easy to approach, but it offers an unparalleled depth of tactical and procedural gameplay that continues to reward serious players.

While totally outdated in the graphics department, it's still a great naval warfare simulation, and its multiplayer capabilities are a wonder, allowing you to join your friends in control of the same unit, centering each one in a specific are of the ship (navigation, sonar, firing control...).

I hoisted the Jolly Roger and set sail for uncharted waters, and you won't believe it – this game runs like a dream under WINE in Linux.
