Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to Match-3 To

All of the characters’ arcs were relatable and solved in a nice and grounded way, I really related to Kedsi’s struggles of navigating work-free time balance, Lulu’s, Pookie’s and Kanon’s (and to an extent, Samar’s as well) issue of people-pleasing/putting others’ needs before your own, etc.

First, the gameplay: it was fun and simple, match 3 or more of the same type of spirit blorbos together.

As the title suggests, lo-fi influences shape the soundtrack, creating a relaxed atmosphere that pairs naturally with puzzle solving.

Difficulty progression remains steady, allowing players to naturally improve their understanding without sudden spikes that disrupt pacing.

The bright, colorful visuals, the chill music and crisp voice acting, and the solid, intuitive gameplay make a damn fine hook to keep you swapping tiles.

Combining with that a simple, but effective, dating-sim element, different tools for how to use patterns of tiles to hamper opponents and empower yourself, engaging core gameplay that's fun even if you lose(like I do very often), charmingly unique art and character design and extraordinarily chill music, Spirit Swap is a welcome addition to the world of puzzle games and I'm glad it exists.
