Luckily - thats not the case here, and there is an actual gameplay loop, which I found to be pretty solid.
But as you progress through the story - more and more of them are getting after you, making for some increasingly interesting challenges to overcome.What I especially liked is that monsters mechanics are connected - for example in the beggining you get a monster that is scared of candles, so you lit them up.
The graphics get across the vibe of the game really well, and you can see the level of work that went into most of the monsters.
Gameplay, while seemingly deceptively simple at first, rises in complexity and difficulty at a nice rate, and in the end I found it definitely replayable, and the challenges of going onto harder game modes pretty great.
In my opinion I would play this again and invite my friend to try out the coop mode!
