Flaws aside, if you are a fan of the series the story comes to a satisfying conclusion.

I was able to play through the complete game without any issues or gameplay breaking bugs.

The top-down sections are the best part, as the new system of having five weapons available at all times both gives more variety and removes the abrupt shock of taking a hit and suddenly switching to an ineffective shot type.

Upgrades are more exciting, the plot thicker, graphics more stunning, challenge more interesting, music more memorable, characters deeper and more realized than ever before.

Overall, despite questionable character designs, a story that tries to do too much with too little, and some new ideas that don’t add too much to the overall game, the fantastic gameplay, fun bosses, good soundtrack, and solid levels give a respectable send-off to the trilogy.
