What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The graphics, artwork & animations are cute, fun & well crafted but the gameplay & levels are too dependent on their presence rather than audio & rhythm indicators which makes the game draining to play with constant white beaming at your face.
The gameplay is intense & unforgiving, the rhythm is usually asynchronus, off-beat or heavily reliant on the art & graphical animation over audio .
Love the visual design and now that I've finally 100%ed I can listen to the soundtrack and not get stressed out <3 definitely is a grind to get all those perfects (that Mind level will haunt me....)
Overall I found Melatonin to be outright unfun without accessibility options enabled & too boring with them enabled & I recommend purchasing if you're interested when it drops to around $5-7AUD.
It tells its story through wordless imagery and movement, inviting players to enter the surreal world of an unnamed protagonist whose dreams reflect fragments of modern life—consumption, technology, ambition, and fatigue.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
