High On Life

Not to be misunderstood, High on Life is a good game, with good ideas, that doesn't seem to want to abstract into the idea of “mechanics stacking.”

The story is simple, the pacing is solid, and every gun has its own running commentary, which is brilliant because I get bored easily.

Gunplay is very fun, beat the game on Hunter Mode, and felt it offered a decent challenge.

The game runs well at a constant 60 fps on my Steam Deck OLED on medium/low settings with FSR set to quality/performance respectively, with my lowering of the graphics options owing to battery consumption and not the Steam Deck's ability to run it.

Smooth framerate @1440p (~120fps), no crashes, only a few tiny bugs like falling off the map, which honestly feels like a friendly reminder that gravity still works.

That being said, if a gamer appreciates those types of jokes, and mostly wants more Rick and Morty style content then this game is a solid recommendation with an appropriate difficulty system making it accessible for any level of gamer.
