The "Hero" characters you could buy separately as an expansion for the real game are here too with a level up system just like the original game.
The only criticism I can say is that the Menus could be designed a little better to make it easier to get into online matchmaking and I found it strange that real-time turns wasn't the default option as that's the one most people will want to play, not the 48 hour turns one.
The DLC is reasonably priced for a game with almost infinite replayability, and I really don't understand what the fuss is about paying for DLC.
You can level your favorite heroes, smash through single-player story campaigns, team up for co-op online battles, or jump into real-time PvP - which is where I spend most of my time, battering strangers with my Wizard and Ranger builds.

Note that there IS now a way to play without characters, but the option is a bit buried in the challenge interface. 100% worth the free game, and worth purchasing the other characters and campaign via in-game purchase.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 5 sampled reviews and is not shown.
