The overall best game of the collection, art direction is gorgeous at times and the gameplay is the best with the Souls system.
The story is also fantastic and to me it was the most enjoyable story from this whole collection.
The original version was incredibly groundbreaking at the time, thanks to the PC Engine's powerful graphics capabilities and the massive capacity of its CD-ROMs, which allowed developers to unleash their creativity.
So controller is highly recommended here, not that it wasn't before since this is Castlevania, but it has better bindings which can also be altered.
It works great on my PC with and without a controller (please use a controller) and I mostly play it on my Steam deck, where it really shines considering these were originally mobile titles.
The inventory management of AoS is great, with items and spells being categorised appropriately, navigation is a breeze, your last used souls are at the top of the list.
