What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It may not have the best graphics or sounds (however that's subjective, I think they're fine), but the gameplay is interesting and it is very fun to find secrets.
The visuals are programmer art at its finest, there's no music, the sound effects are developer acapella, the moment-to-moment gameplay is all either flying through mazes or shooting things, you're expected to grind for stats in order to proceed at multiple points, and there's no in-game quest log or note system to keep track of the things you find.
While the combat is a bit bland - most enemies are stationary - it makes up for it with over the top sound effects, a somewhat incremental powerup system, and lots of quality of life built in.
There are so many weapons, each with several firing modes and many upgrades, and those upgrades can be found in like 5 separate dungeons at least each, and those lists are given to you in excrutiating, head-spinning detail... but I still had no sense of what some of those weapons even *did* until shortly before "finishing" the game.
This game is truly like no other, The story is very involved and the gameplay is fun too!
