It won't do the insane long-term min/maxing some players are able to do - multiplayer is there for that, but it will play to the strengths and weaknesses of its factions.
Game is not very optimized, because my laptop runs pretty hot, for a game that has pretty basic graphics.
WIth 14 unique factions, each one with different abilities and play styles and a randomised map on each play, give this game a TON of variety and replayability. 4 different resources to manage and multiple different research tracks keep you thoroughly engaged in each play through.
