Unlike most co-op games where players share a screen or identical views, The Past Within is entirely dependent on the two players inhabiting different timelines—one in the past, the other in the future.
The eerie atmosphere, excellent soundtrack, and intriguing story tie everything together perfectly, creating a memorable experience from start to finish.
It is not a game that is difficult, the subsequent puzzles were not a difficulty for me and my friend, but we had fun playing it, which is what it is all about.
The graphics of the game are very nice.
It’s a compelling experiment in cooperative gameplay that manages to feel both deeply intimate and cleverly constructed, all while retaining the haunting, enigmatic tone Rusty Lake fans have come to expect.
Sound-wise it is also very good, we have dubbing and a pleasant soundtrack, on top of that the ambient sounds are equally good.
