What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I've perfected rifle, shotgun and plasma gun and I can't deal enough damage to stop mobs from entering the zone because of them being sped up by the boost and stupid gameplay decision.
There's a lot more variety of enemies compared to the first game, graphics are improved and the game doesn't stutter as much as the first one.
Online co-op works fine with 2 players, we had no issues with our progress and finding each other quickly.
Can be played solo/multiplayer with the story being pretty much just copy and paste main objective 5x - go here, do this objective, rinse and repeat - as you move into the next zone, so I wouldn't buy the game if you are wanting it for the story which can be summed up to 'aliens are here, let's kick their a$$'; but the gameplay, exploring for guns/items, laying traps, etc, as you hunt the aliens is where it shines.
Radial menu for items/weapons: you end up standing still as you shuffle through looking for an item, but if you are like me, you can keybind it to a button allowing you to be mobile, but you still end up shuffling through 10 items, and more-so when you skip over it.
Soundtrack is available in high quality, great!
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
