Personally i found the characters and story great and fun the whole way through.
The soundtrack complements the mood perfectly, mixing futuristic synths with haunting melodies to heighten tension and drama.
As for the gameplay, while on the surface it is just a visual novel, the VR immersiveness and visuals absolutely create an unique and fun experience to play through the game with.

The characters are very well voice acted (atleast on japanese VA, i haven't tried english voices) and subtitles never get in the way either which is great.
