What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
For this review I will focus on the changes from the previous Beat Hazards instead of going over core gameplay, which remains excellent and you should familiarize yourself with since there are many key interesting features about it.
- Graphics From 2D to 3D: The game does indeed look prettier!
- Galaxy Campaign System: The very well-executed Shadow Operations system from last game moved Beat Hazard to something with progression and a proper "game" instead of something only to relax to.
The main progression system adds structure through unlocks and upgrades, but the real draw remains the freedom to play your own soundtrack.
Basically you pick however many artists you want and it will generate a big campaign map that you can play solo or online with friends.
If you own a Steam Deck, you absolutely shouldn't miss this game – it's a perfect fit and insanely fun to play!
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
