In terms of gameplay (though the setting is entirely different), Arid reminded me of The Solus Project (except The Solus Project isn’t free).

Compared to the plethora of amateur-ish, eternally-early-access survival games, Arid looks quite professional, with great graphics, well-rounded systems and a good story to follow (don't want to spoil it, but I liked its twists and new elements added).
