It's not that they are poorly referenced or anything, it just feels lackluster when all of the characters look like they were taken from other places.
I love the visuals, combat feels great, the characters all feel unique and look great with fun gimmicks and it's generally just really fun.
The art style is really cool, the pixel art animation is super expressive and I love the character designs!
the gameplay is very intuitive and its fun to see how your combos come together. the character and map designs are lovely as well!
