Each region introduces memorable rivals with distinct personalities and although there's no voice acting, it still makes every victory feel like more than just another race and gives you immersive context as to how you're climbing the ranks in the wasteland and dominating the competition.
Instead, it's essentially a rags-to-riches/zero-to-hero story about competing in high-octane races to build a fanbase while winning championships across various regions, serving as a fun justification for the gameplay rather than trying to be anything overly ambitious.
Outside of the story, players can engage in standalone modes, survival challenges, and local multiplayer, including split-screen and Remote Play Together support.

There were occasional moments where races suffered from noticeable pop-in, but it never detracted from the experience in any significant way, especially because the game is so well optimized overall.
