What players think
The recurring themes across 132 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Anomalous is a hardcore retro-styled FPS (Boomer Shooter) that takes inspiration from games such as Doom, Quake, Unreal, and Half Life.
The game looks good in most places, the soundtrack is pretty solid too.
The pace of the gameplay is pretty solid right now, the movement is fast and feels pretty good, the bit of platforming you need to do works fairly well, the combat is mostly pretty solid and the weapons feel like they pack a punch - and the gore and blood effects combined with the partially destructible elements in the environment make it a lot of fun.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
