im not sure what i expected, but it def isnt what i expected, but in a good way. its something i didnt know i wanted lol first off the ship speed. its not accurate (this is usually a hang up for me but not in this case) but it is that perfect "too fast" that keep a good flow of gameplay without feeling like big speedboats firing gatling guns at each other. however i do wish there was an option to change this kinda like buccaneers sliders, but tbh i wouldnt touch it bc this is perfect for me. i like that u can have ur ship go slow in the map view bc it makes u feel like ur actually on a voyage if that makes sense?
The potential in this game would follow similar, because a lot of your potential runs on fundamental mechanics such as "the cargo hold of your ship", with other stats including the sails of a ship, cannon complement, crew [bundled in the cargo capacity], with a lot of this running upon said cargo capacity (though there are bugs right now that would skew new impressions, like an overloaded crew cargo hold for pirate characters, or distinction to detail [e.g. different weighting for different crew types that you'll need to interact with any landbased entity, with melee sailors having the least weight, compared to pistoleers/musketeers tied at the same, then grenadiers, officers, and the noble 1000 weight cannon that is basically a mini siege gun]).
Not for the graphics, immersion, progression, UI or frankly anything other than the fact the game made me select it to play over any other choice on my steam account, until content ended.
Furthermore, the atmosphere is extremely well made--you feel like you are on the high seas with the wonderful visuals and the spot on sound effects (music, sailing, cannon fire, swords hitting!).
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
