To progress through the early game, you need to do the normal mode version of dungeons, but there is no incentive whatsoever to do Hard or Manic modes, because the XP rewards from story quests are massive.

Graphics are dated but look pretty darn good for a game of its time but this game is very poorly optimized even on low settings and you can have the most powerful PC on the market and this game will still struggle to run well.
