While I am not a huge fan of the last two published by SSI, though they're ok, my favorite by far is Close Combat III: The Russian Front, even though I do find it limiting compared to the first two in terms of length of play and exceeding the historical timeline, especially the first Close Combat where you could actually have never ending game play if you play as the Germans.

Graphics in battles look very good they've definitely been improved - the front end GUI is small but when you get into the battles they are great to watch, hear and play.
