Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Combat is fluid, responsive, and reminiscent of classic brawlers with modern polish.

It balances two seemingly unrelated gameplay loops into a cohesive and surprisingly emotional journey, enriched with a charming story, gorgeous visuals, and a deep reverence for both Japanese mythology and agricultural tradition.

I think the game deserves credit for trying to do something different, and the Japanese voice acting, character design, and story were all cute.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a small game that managed to create quite a strong buzz thanks to its charming visuals and appealing anime-style art direction.

The soundtrack complements the visuals perfectly, mixing traditional Japanese instruments with modern arrangements to evoke both tranquility and intensity as needed.

and most importantly it has a good story full of character growth for each character. they all have their flaws and over the course of the story you get to see them grow as people.
