What players think
The recurring themes across 97 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The levels loop around just like Defender, there are sheepies to rescue just like humanoids, and the obvious references to Eugene Jarvis and the myriad of Vid Kidz sound effects everywhere aren't exactly subtle.
Looking at gameplay of the original you can see the resemblance but also how much Llamasoft added to make this an instant classic with unique game mechanics.
The retro/psychedelic visuals and sounds are a treat for the eyes and the ears.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
