Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Heart of the Forest (HotF) is a Visual Novel (VN), so there's not too much to expect in terms of actual "gameplay", however, unlike most VNs, the game does have a couple of RPG-systems, including meters for your Rage, Willpower, and Health, as well as character stats, and a social sim portion with all named characters and some factions, adding a lot of depth to your decisions.
The peculiar frame rate is not an issue, and feels satisfactorily fluid, considering that the totality of the application is text and menu based, with some very minimally animated background images.
