The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Made in a similar vein to games like Dispatch and TellTale-style choose-your-own-adventure games, As Dusk Falls tells the story of how one fateful encounter at a motel spiraled and forever changed the lives of those involved.
The High-Resolution Texture Pack didn’t work on my RTX 4060, but honestly, the visuals suit the narrative style well (even if a few stills make characters look unintentionally silly in tense moments).
Coupled with solid sound design, music, and voice acting, and the overall package is engaging and comes recommended.
Gameplay is simple - when you're not making decisions, clicking on objects, or watching the story play out, the only actions you will be doing will be doing very simple QTEs.
Visually we're given a sort of 2D comic book style, which works quite well in terms of relaying information and for standing out as being a bit different from the crowd, however, the optimisation for this game is in the gutter, and no matter what settings you select or whether you cap the frame rate, your GPU is likely to run hot.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
