On paper, Gripper sounds like my ideal gaming experience: a challenging, Akira-inspired boss rush on cyberwheels, set in a strange, apocalyptic world that’s infused with a high-stakes, emotionally-charged story, interesting grappling hook combat, an upgrade system, unlockable cosmetics, two distinct game modes, and to top it all off a furious dark synth score.
