Armoured Commander II

I really love the way you can develop your crew and the level ups and medals with all the perks really add a ton of replayability to the game.

Or perhaps consider the graphics, which, while crude, are clear and obvious; the tank models are lovely as well.

And when combat starts, you're all in, invested to make the right manoeuvers and take the right decisions, because the game won't spare you, oh no.

It's a quick-paced, easy to learn, addictive kind of game with a good balance of difficulty.

And that's where the magic lies, because under the colored squares and bitcrushed machine gun sounds and slick hot-keys, Armored Commander II is first and a foremost a story generator.

I found it much more enjoyable with a controller than M&K, which is good because it's an excellent short-session Steam Deck game - especially while winding down in bed.
