Rather than aiming for polish in a traditional sense, the visuals embrace imperfection as part of their charm, making every new area feel like a discovery.

Instead, it expands upon it with greater mechanical confidence, richer exploration, and a more cohesive sense of structure, all while remaining deeply surreal, abstract, and defiantly uninterested in conventional storytelling or presentation.

Sound design and music play a crucial role in defining Hylics 2’s identity.

Turn-based combat returns with a greater emphasis on strategy and party synergy, supported by a small but memorable cast of companions who each bring unique abilities and personalities.

Overall, the story was MUCH easier to understand as every NPC talks normally and can give clear instruction, tips, etc.

And when I say "more enjoyable" it's because, going back and skipping / dodging that same enemy is more fun and thrilling because of just how gruelling the combat is.
