Story is cute but minimal, exploration is fun and offers tons of secrets, there are plenty of unique enemies in each biome, the bosses offer the greatest challenge (there are quite a few), and the progression is well designed.

The important story cutscenes are drawn in a captivating comic-book style — it nails the presentation.

From a mechanical perspective, the underwater controls and combat style make it play dramatically differently from other games in the genre while still retaining the traits that make them fun.

Much of the game is relatively easy, but there are some challenging and well-designed boss fights as you progress (difficulty curve is pretty smooth for the most part).

The graphics are stunning, with good use of colors and animation The art-style is distinct and easily identifiable with creative enemy design.

The soundtrack is quite nice too, though much of it didn't stand out, it also fit the ambiance of most of the locations.
