Personally, I would describe Fatum Betula as an exploration game, relying heavily on its atmosphere and dream-like quality to narrate a story which is simultaneously simple and convoluted.
Besides that, I liked everything else, like the visuals and music.
This encourages replayability, as understanding the game often comes from seeing how drastically outcomes can differ based on subtle decisions.
Of course, the PSX era aesthetics and an amazing soundtrack both allow the story to take root and give form to its fleshy bark and low-polygon, bony branches.
The whole process felt tedious, partly because I had to hold down Shift all the time, partly because I discovered the save menu too late into the game (make yourself a favor and use F5).
