There's quite a bit to unlock via character progression with knowledge, or item spawns/things to start runs with with Supply points, always feels like you're making some sort of progression.
If I had to compare this game to some of those mentioned I would say that it is a mix between the gunplay of nuclear throne with the dark grittyness of the binding of issac and the good looking 3D graphics of the unity engine.
Despite saying it isn't Steam Deck compatible, it worked fine for me.
The only way it could be any better is if there were some kind of multiplayer function.
