What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The story of the game is basically identical to the original game with a few minor changes that don't really change anything significant and I'm glad to report that it's just as good as it was all those years ago.
And in the gameplay, everything is so in place that there is nothing even to scold.
This game however, did not, Performance was an absolute joke, even on the lowest settings even to this day on my newer graphics card, yes, the game went from mission based to an open world mission based structure, but this doesn't excuse the absolutely abhorrent amount of game breaking bugs, soft locks, frame rate issues and intense stuttering that the game suffered from and STILL suffers from to this day.
This was of note in the original where sometimes characters had that PS2 audio quality, which is not an issue here, everything sounds crisp and nice.
This feature is seamlessly integrated and amplifies the fun exponentially, making it one of the best arcade-style co-op experiences available on the platform.
I enjoyed playing this remake on steam deck to go and play outside the porch or whenever I go out.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
