the story and voice acting are comical, if not a bit stiff and cheesy at times, but i think that makes it more charming. the story was always my favorite part of past entries. and the writing is flawed, but again, its cheesy and i love that stuff. the new character marle ended up being one of my favorite puyo characters too.
my problem, though, stems from the actual gameplay itself. if you've played ppt2 on console before buying it on steam, make sure you have a controller. i had to do a lot of configuring before realizing that i really didnt want to play on pc, despite it being more convenient for me since my switch started to drift.
The scenes are enjoyable, I'm allowed to switch to the Japanese voice acting if I wish to do so, and the gameplay is solid.
The character art's been updated and improved, looking like 20th's art style but a bit prettier, the spell cut-ins are AMAZING, and there's more character depth, a bigger cast, a whole new plot, and the new character designs are really appealing in my opinion.
