What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The core moment to moment gameplay is better and very satisfying, with more emphasis on platforming in some areas and more combat options and more movement options.
Game progressions requires you to complete the whole game multiple times, and to reach a true ending you need to do it around 7-8 times.
Charming Art Style and Presentation: The 2.5D art style, featuring 3D characters against hand-drawn backdrops, is visually appealing.
The game offers great variety, replayability, combat, soundtrack, lore, and very much so - a challenge.
I highly recommend using a controller for Rogue Legacy 2, as the alternative use of abilities makes great use of the triggers while the aiming-oriented classes feel natural to control using two joysticks, giving off strong run-and-gun vibes when playing the Gunslinger, specifically.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
