Story and characters
Players who bring up Story and characters mostly praise it.
There is a story, you're a pilot, you have to save the world from Zodiac, like most games from the golden era, it wasn't the plot or the storylines that pulled you in, it was the gameplay and sometimes memorable characters, after selecting a level (you only have one to start with) you're straight into the action, get used to the controls quickly as the action comes thick and fast, your ship can only take so much damage before it explodes in a fireball and you lose a life.

Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.
This is a fantastic homage/inspired spiritual sequel/ode to Star Fox (SNES), Star Fox 64 (N64), Space Harrier (Arcade/Sega 32X), with a splash of the Sega Saturn's graphic style bundled in with the modern conveniences of high framerate gameplay.

Audio
Players who bring up Audio mostly praise it.
Moving on to graphics and sound, music is your usual retro tune selection and suits the game, the sound effects are the usual laser, bang, bleep and bloop and again all fit perfectly in this style of games, the occasional text pop up for the story, has a "garbled" type of speech, this wasn't common back in the day, voice acting was very rare as was any type of speech in games, its fine as it all fits in with the 90`s retro theme.

Graphics
Players who bring up Graphics mostly praise it.
EXZ is a 3D shooter with low poly graphics and is a lover letter to all of those 3D games you only ever played in arcades, yes by today's standards they look simple but they can still have lots of charm, especially if you're a Retro Gamer like me!

Controls
Players who bring up Controls mostly praise it.
Controlling the ship was fairly straightforward, I customised a few controls, put missile lock on RB on my controller due to autofire not allowing me to lock on with the X button, you can boost and barrel roll to evade ships and fire, get used to using these, as they will save your life!
