You can choose between 3 character types (Warrior, Mage, Technician) but can buy skills from each skill tree, so you aren't locked at all to the class you choose and can build a nice combo between the characters' abilities.
The game has a good variety of level themes with minor puzzles, a bit of secret searching and a few places with alternative gameplay (e.g. roller coaster mine cart defence, or surviving assaults while on a moving platform; not all to my taste but thankfully no escort mission).
Trifox uses a bright, refreshing color in its visuals.
When a game makes you go "Hmmmm, what will I play on Steam Deck today..." and the answer is "Oooooh!
The game is meant to be played with a controller but can be played with keyboard and a mouse (which the game sort of assumes has 4 buttons).
