This is the best puzzler I've played in years and hits a nostalgia nerve I didn't know existed within me with the adorable characters, touching stories, and amazing music.
Each story is written beautifully by the great Zack Morrison, the creator of Paranatural, accompanied by a stellar chip-tunes track masterfully composed by Michael Staple with each character's theme and gameplay matching their personality shining through it all.
The game's soundtrack provides a wide variety of fun chiptunes ranging from easy-going melodies to blood-pumping beats for true doom combo-builders.
Complementing the visuals is an upbeat soundtrack filled with energetic music that perfectly matches the game's cheerful atmosphere, while crisp sound effects enhance the excitement of every successful chain reaction.
With the upcoming release of Petal Crash Online, this game will be sure to scratch a certain itch for new multiplayer titles in the Puzzle Fighter genre.
For some people, not having online matchmaking will surely be a deal-breaker.
