Wide Ocean Big Jacket is a short and linear narrative adventure revolving around life in the wilderness, relationships and growing up.
The quirky but jovial tune playing in the background and the unusual use of colour and graphics sets a perfect tone for what to expect; An oddball adventure that is just wholesome and entertaining.
The title card introduction and jangly pop and strings of the soundtrack alone would make it easy to jump to Wes Anderson, but there is more just beneath the bright surface of WOBJ.
