The gameplay feels fast and fluid — a refreshing change of pace compared to Pokémon.
Now this game hits every note in my book when it comes to gameplay, story, visuals - oh my god the visuals.
The environments are more expansive and memorable, the characters have more personality with a nice amount of development, NPCs are abundant and well worth talking to, Nexomon have more variety with their designs than the first game, capture mechanics have been expanded upon greatly, and the music is a genuine improvement from the blander soundtrack of the first game.
I played this entirely with a Steam Deck, docked to a TV, and with an XBone controller.
