✔ Interesting story
✔ Satisfying progression system
The graphics still look impressive for a 2021 game (with some exceptions, for example the sniper scope, which looks like it came straight out of a 2011 free-to-play game).
Exploration, inventory management, crafting, puzzles, weapon upgrades, and resource management all return, while the combat feels much more polished than RE7.
The sound design has also seen some bulking and it's some of the best in the series.
It both looks incredible and is incredibly optimized and runs very smoothly.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
