The game basically allows you to determine which events, or quests come early in the game and which comes later, and if you want to get every single quest in the game, you have to plan out which land goes where very carefully.
The remaster features an arranged soundtrack and also the original, which you can choose to switch between in-game.
The main change is the redone HD graphics, which are noticeably crisper and look great with the artstyle on my 4K monitor.
You'll want a controller to play since it was originally a PS1 game, but if you don't have one, you can remap the keyboard easily enough in the menu (look up a classic PS1 controller scheme as your guide).
And it even has decent 2-player co-op, albeit asymmetric play (1p is the Hero, 2p is the Sidekick).
