● Engaging story.
If you started to rush the gameplay along, you eventually learned how many great things you could have missed by not DEEPLY exploring and backtracking (though it wouldn’t break your game to miss the tons of secrets).
Nobuo Uematsu deserves so much praise for this OST which perfectly fits every scene it's used in and really made the most of the limitations of 16-bit sound hardware.
I was very surprised to see the Opera scene recreated with actual 3D visuals which isn't done anywhere else.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
