This *seems* to have been the developers' intention when making the game, and it would have been a great departure from other games on the market: Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Wizardry, Ultima, and of course, Dungeons & Dragons all placed party members in rigid, inflexible roles.
FFII easily has the most complex EXP progression system compared to any RPG before it, and is still more complex than every subsequent Final Fantasy game.
The remaster soundtrack. in FF1 was better though.
The magic spells got some really cool upgraded visuals that I absolutely loved, though.
On top of that , there is an improved mini map , more user-friendly ui and player interaction with chest and items .
